Maryland 4-H Congress is the state's premier teen leadership opportunity. It is designed to provide 4-H teens the opportunity to connect with the University of Maryland, their land grant university while learning about academic options and getting a taste of campus life. Congress is open to 4-H members ages 14-18 and will be held on the University of Maryland Campus, College Park.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore career opportunities in various areas and interact with professors and professionals to inspire and engage them in thinking about their future. Youth attending Maryland 4-H Congress live in campus residence halls, eat-in dining halls, enjoy campus recreational activities, and attend workshops and tours in campus classrooms, labs, and facilities. Participants have the chance to meet and make friends with fellow 4-Hers from across the state, discover career opportunities, perform community service, and learn skills that help them prepare for college and the workforce.
4-Hers attending Maryland 4-H Congress choose a “career track” consisting of workshops, tours, and activities supported by University of Maryland and Extension faculty, staff, and career professionals.
