Starting Vegetable Seeds Indoors
The Charles County Master Gardeners Grow It Eat It Education project presented a workshop on Starting Vegetable Seeds Indoors on Saturday, February 1, at the College of Southern Maryland. Participants learned about reading seed packets, growing medium, seed starting light requirements, seed starting care, and how to build a DIY light stand. Included in the presentation was a short section on herbs because this year, the Master Gardeners Grow It Eat It Program is celebrating herbs. Fall Vegetable Gardening
The Charles County Master Gardeners Grow It Eat It Education project presented a workshop on Fall Vegetable Gardening on Saturday, October 5, at the College of Southern Maryland. Participants learned about finishing summer gardening, preparing the garden area for Spring, planting cool weather crops, and extending the season through plant protection techniques. Other Fall tasks, including soil testing, winterizing, and starting a compost pile, were also discussed. Watch the slide presentation below.
Vegetable Plant Problems Presentation!
The Grow It Eat It (GIEI) Education project team held a garden vegetable talk at the College of Southern Maryland. The event was well attended and participants learned how to grow vegetables, troubleshoot plant pest and fungal diseases, and strategies. Check Out the presentation!
