The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Maryland Onsite Wastewater Professional Association (MOWPA) have begun development of a facility intended to demonstrate technology and provide education and training on onsite wastewater treatment, or septic systems.
This two-acre site will present unique opportunities for homeowners and various professionals to experience a variety of wastewater treatment technologies including:

  • conventional septic systems
  • waste water dispersal methods
  • advanced treatment or best available technology (BAT) systems
  • demonstration of system landscaping practices
  • well technology and protection practices

The facility is currently under construction and displays will be completed by July, 2025.
