Program Overview

The statewide Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Caregiver Program was developed in 2023 by eight University of Maryland Extension educators. Its goal is to empower ADRD caregivers with educational support, enhancing both their own well-being and that of the individuals they care for. 

This program series (six hours) is taught virtually and in-person formats. It focuses on the caregiver-specific areas of finance, health insurance, mental health, relational skills, food safety, and nutrition. The program is taught statewide. 

Who is this program for?

  • Family caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia 

  • Professional or paid caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia
