Select the way to participate

Getting involved with 4‑H is easy, and costs are kept to a minimum. 4‑H doesn't require a uniform, and there are no national fees. Children select their 4‑H education project so they can choose one that works well within a family's budget. 4‑H programs and clubs typically meet once per week or once per month, although some may choose to meet more or less frequently. 4‑H programs are available for children ages 8-18. 4-H Clovers programs are available for children ages 5-7.

  • Camping in woods, lake, stream to go fishing or tadpole hunting

    Camping is kids learning about leadership, caring, and community through activities like swimming, boating, creative arts, horsemanship, backpacking, fishing, and archery.

    Join a Club

    You may think 4-H is only for your friends with animals, but it’s so much more! You can do activities like shooting sports, food science, environmental science, healthy living, robotics, fashion, art and photography.

    The Maryland State Fair provides opportunities for 4-H members to showcase their project work to fair guests from all across Maryland and surrounding states. More than one-half million guests visit the fair each year.
