What Do Plant Clinics Offer?
Charles County Master Gardeners traditionally set up plant clinics at the Waldorf and La Plata Farmer’s Markets on Saturday beginning May and continuing through September. (Check back for when we will start clinics this year.)
We provide free, science-based advice on all your gardening challenges---plant problems, bug problems, soil problems and much more. Is there something eating your plant? We encourage homeowners to bring plant stem cutting and photos for identification or diagnosis.
Master Gardeners can help identify the likely problem and suggest solutions to restore your plant, lawn or garden to good health. We also offer advice on pruning, vegetables, insects, lawns, trees and shrubs and lots more! Please do not bring live animals.
Plant samples may also be brought to the Extension Office, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
So What Are Good and Bad Bugs?
How can you tell? If your sample is identified as a pest, Master Gardeners will work with you to develop a management strategy. If it’s a beneficial insect or plant, Master Gardener volunteers will help you figure out how to keep them around.
