The fall harvest is just around the corner. While you may be sad to see less summer squash, melons, and berries, get ready for fresh apples, pumpkins, and loads of other fall vegetables. Shopping at the farmers’ market is a great way to purchase fresh produce to make healthy meals and snacks with your family, while supporting local farmers. Farmers’ markets are open during the week and weekend, usually through the end of October or November depending on the location, and are a great way to have a safe and socially distanced outing.

Did you know that many of the farmers’ markets in Maryland accept SNAP/EBT, P-EBT, and FMNP benefits? Here’s some seasonal produce to look out for at your local farmers’ market this fall:
