Clientele evaluations provide UME faculty with the summative information needed to provide a measure of teaching effectiveness for use in AFR, APT, AEP and related reviews. It also allows for the collection of formative information to provide diagnostic feedback to faculty for the improvement of teaching. UME faculty are encouraged to collect a minimum of fifty (50) clientele teaching effectiveness surveys across five (5) different teaching events annually.
Annually, UME faculty are required to obtain three (3) administrative/peer evaluations by three (3) different reviewers for at least two (2) different programs/classes.
UME provides standardized surveys for each of its programs in both paper and online forms for faculty use.
Faculty are strongly encouraged to check their teaching evaluations on a monthly basis and send reminders to clientele and peers if evaluations have not been submitted.
Faculty may access their teaching data (both Clientele Teaching Effectiveness and Peer/Administrative Observation of Teaching) via a Dashboard in Qualtrics. (Note: UME has a separate license than University of Maryland – users must be enrolled in the correct account.)
