The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was signed into law in 2011. FDA now considers wineries to be in the category of food manufacturing plants and they therefore must be registered with the FDA and comply with FSMA. Is your winery exempt? If not, what is required?
