Have you ever dreamed of being a farmer and helping to feed the world? The University of Maryland Extension is helping people live out that dream and join Maryland's top industry through the Beginning Farmer Success Program.
This course is designed for people in Maryland who are considering, or in the beginning stages of, starting a farming venture. The online course, which runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. from February 13 to April 17, 2025, focuses on business planning, marketing, crop production, livestock husbandry, soil health, pent management, food safety, regulations, certifications, and more. Additional elective resources will cover more specialized topics, such as organic production, urban agriculture, and direct marketing to local customers. Participants will learn from over 14 speakers, including agricultural Extension educators, farmers, and agricultural industry professionals.
