Maryland Native Plants Program

Welcome to the Maryland Native Plant Program’s (MNPP) website!

Our mission is to promote the sale and use of plants native to Maryland, and to increase awareness about the importance and benefits of native plants. The MNPP is a partnership between the University of Maryland Extension, Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA), Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Maryland Native Plant Society. The University MNPP Extension program supports the nursery industry and end-users by providing unbiased and research-based information about how to select, propagate, and use native plants in developed and natural landscapes.
